A Sunbow experiment! In 2021 we found a volunteer plant loaded with fruits at the back of the farm, they were tasty so we saved the seed and planted them out this year. The fruits have a firm, deep orange flesh and slightly boozy flavor. They aren't uniform in appearance, some of them have stripes, others completely smooth. We can thank the birds or voles for planting this one for us and that means we're still trying to figure out who the "parent" plants are. Our guess is that the firm flesh is from our honeydews and the color is from our Oregon Delicious cantaloupe. The flavor a combo of the two. All of our produce is certified organic.
